Line Components for Doypack Packing

Multi-head Weigher for Precise Doypack Filling
The doypack packing line starts with a 10, 14, or 20 head combination weigher. Product is elevated to the weigher via a Z type bucket elevator. The weigher calculates the optimal combination of weighing buckets to achieve target weight with minimum giveaway. Accuracy is plus or minus 0.5 to 2 grams for typical snack products. The weigher discharges directly into the doypack packing machine filling station.

Doypack Packing Machine – Rotary Type
The doypacks are automatically picked from a magazine, opened by suction cups combined with a bottom spreader that pushes open the gusset, filled by the weigher discharge, then sealed. Our rotary doypack packing machine operates at 40 to 80 doypacks per minute for standard stand-up pouches, or up to 100 doypacks per minute for smaller pouches. The doypack packing machine handles zipper doypacks, spouted doypacks, flat bottom doypacks, and three-side seal doypacks.

Checkweigher for Doypack Quality Control
After sealing on the doypack packing machine, every doypack passes through a checkweigher. This in motion scale weighs each finished doypack at full line speed. If a doypack is underweight or overweight, the checkweigher sends a rejection signal. A pneumatic air blast or pusher arm removes the out of spec doypack from the doypack packing line automatically.

Metal Detector for Doypack Safety
Following the checkweigher, a metal detector inspects each doypack for ferrous, non ferrous, and stainless steel contaminants. Sensitivity is typically 0.5 to 1.0 millimeters for ferrous metals depending on product effect. The metal detector is integrated with the rejection system so contaminated doypacks are automatically removed from the doypack packing line.

Cartoner for Finished Doypack Packing
The last component is an automatic cartoner that loads finished doypacks into pre erected cartons. The cartoner erects flat carton blanks, inserts the required number of doypacks (for example, 12 doypacks per carton), applies glue or tucks the flap, and closes the carton. Speeds match the doypack packing machine output. An optional date coder prints lot number and expiry date on the carton.

Central Control and Data Reporting for Doypack Packing Line

All doypack packing line components are controlled from a central touch screen panel. One operator can monitor the entire doypack packing line. The system records production counts, rejects by reason (underweight, metal detected, doypack open error), and machine efficiency. Data can be exported via USB or transmitted to your factory ERP system.

Line Layout Options for Doypack Packing

The L shape layout turns the doypack packing line 90 degrees after the doypack packing machine, saving space.
